The Indianapolis Press Club Foundation administers several scholarship programs for journalism education.

Among the scholarships the IPCF hands out are:

The Maurice and Robert Early Scholarship honors the press club's first president, Maurice Early, a columnist and political reporter for The Indianapolis Star, and his brother Robert Early, who was managing editor of The Star for 34 years. The Early Scholarship goes to students who are pursuing a career in journalism and are enrolled at an Indiana college or university.

The Walter E. and Mary E. Hemphill Scholarship was established in 1999. This fund grants journalism scholarships based on need to talented journalism students.

The Harold C. Feightner Scholarship for Graduate Study. Harold Feightner, a political reporter for the Indianapolis News, started this scholarship with bequests to the Indianapolis Press Club and Indiana University. The Foundation has since continued supporting this scholarship. The Graduate Scholarship Committee of the I.U. School of Journalism selects the recipients.

The John H. “Jerry” Lyst Scholarship honors longtime foundation board member Jerry Lyst, who worked at The Indianapolis Star for 45 years. Lyst began his career as a      police reporter and retired when he was editorial and opinion page editor The Star. This award goes to students who plan to study journalism in college and who are enrolled at   Lawrence Central High School, where Lyst was editor of the school newspaper and on the yearbook staff.
